About Me

Carmin Bliss is a visual artist and her work is inspired by her own life. Based in South Florida, she is currently pursuing a BFA in Studio Art at Florida State University. She explores how her own experiences have shaped her, and how she is evolving not only as an artist but as a young woman. She focuses on portraiture, using herself as a subject to explore self perception and identity. Whenever she’s asked why she started creating art or where her interest comes from, it's always so hard to answer because it has simply always been a part of her. She’s been making art for as long as she can remember, and her passion has just grown alongside her.
Through her art, she wants to spark a reaction— whether it be good or bad, it doesn’t matter. She wants to provoke thought, to make people look at her work and try to figure it out, to try and figure her out. In her art, she is the most herself. Working primarily in oil on acrylic and collage backgrounds, she incorporates experimental 3D elements to push the boundaries of traditional portraiture.
